The service originally operated out of a private home in 1979 then as part of the Ewin Community Centre when it was officially opened in April 1981.
In 1982 Family Support funding was received through the Department for Community Services and for 12 years a family support program operated from the Ewin Centre alongside childcare services.
In October 1992, the Kununurra Neighbourhood House became a separate entity and in July 1994 moved out of the Ewin Centre into a Homeswest house in Leichhardt Street, Kununurra, This remains the same premises today with life tenure of the building being given to Kununurra Neighbourhood House by Homeswest in 2005.
